Partly. The registrant section of the TRABIS reply publishes the trade name, and in the record we measured the holder's company name was directly readable. The four lines that follow carry the address, phone and email, and where the holder has asked for it they come back as Hidden upon user request. So the question of who a name belongs to is usually answered on .com.tr, while the question of how to contact them usually is not.

It does. Both appear under the additional information heading at the end of the reply, on the Created on and Expires on lines. The format differs from generic extensions: the date is written with an abbreviated month and the line ends in a full stop. If you parse .com.tr output with your own tooling, a date parser written for .com will not work here. In our result screen the dates are normalised for you.

The transfer line says whether the domain can currently be moved to another registrar. In our measurement the record was LOCKED to transfer, meaning the operation was closed. This lock is usually left on deliberately to prevent unauthorised transfers, and it is lifted through the registrar managing the name. A transfer request started while the lock is on will not progress, so checking this line first saves time.

No. IANA's RDAP bootstrap registry defines no endpoint for .tr, and our measurement on 12 August 2026 confirms it. ICANN's RDAP transition policy, in force since 28 January 2025, binds generic extensions, and .tr is a country code extension outside that scope. That makes the TRABIS WHOIS service on port 43 the only source of .com.tr registration data.

Query a name nobody holds and TRABIS returns No match found with no other fields at all; we confirmed this during the measurement. That reply means the name looks available to register, though on its own it is not a guarantee — some names are reserved under the zone's own rules. The frozen line shows whether an administrative restriction is blocking operations on the domain. In the record we measured the field came back as a dash, meaning no freeze was in place. When it is populated, updates and transfers cannot be carried out on the name. This field belongs to the TRABIS vocabulary and has no one-to-one equivalent among the EPP status codes used by generic extensions.

Not for the lookup. A WHOIS query is a public read operation that returns the published fields of a registration; nobody asks the person querying for identification. Documents relate to the registration itself — acquiring or transferring a name — and that process runs through a registrar. The tool on this page only reads the existing record and makes no change to it.

The two records follow different rules. .com is a generic extension running a thin registry model, and it never holds registrant data at registry level. .com.tr is a country zone: TRABIS publishes the holder's trade name directly, opens the registrar block in full and adds fields of its own such as the transfer lock.
